October 1, 2009 NBC Blog

What a great month we have had at NBC.  This month alone we had 67 saved.
I also have a total of 12 visitors cards that have been followed-up.

I also have sent two Pastoral References to Bible College for our young people.  I am so excited that our young people have a desire to reach the world.  A-MEN

Our Fall program has just begun  “INCREASE MIGHTILY”.  Tonight will kick off the point contest for the 42” and 19” screen TV.  A pizza party for the winning team is also up for grabs with a special speaker included.
Let’s all get involved and work hard.

Don’t Hide Your Eyes
Proverbs 28:27b “but he that hideth his eyes shall have many a curse”.

I want to talk to you about problems in your life.   About your children, about you spouses, about your personal issues you deal with each day: attitudes, thoughts, thinking process, behaviour.  We all have this in common and that is we over look so much of our own weaknesses.  We over look our shortcomings, our inabilities to overcome our hardships.  This morning I want us to focus on our God given life and  to change if needed.
The only way that we truely will see our weaknesses and strive to strengthen them is if we get in contact with our God.  Christ if we allow Him, will pinpoint our faults but we must be willing to — here we go, are you ready —- CHANGE!
Change is the uncomfortable.  The way we think many times is carnal.  The way we do things many times is godless and convenient.  So we must add this thought and that is found in Proverbs 28:27b.  It will become a curse if we blindly refuse to face issues in our life.  A curse is a final result of unattended sin or short comings in our character. It is the final negative result of ignorance.
For example:
One of my boys has a hard time connecting the sounds of letters to the complete word.  He can sound out the letters fine but he cannot connect them to make a word as he reads.  This is a problem. We must handle this properly our it could become a greater problem, even a hiderance in his future if not corrected.  So what did we do?  I’m glad you asked!
We took him to a therepist to see if there was any weakness in that area, then we took him to the ear specialist, and to top it all off we took him to the eye specialist, all in three days.
As a parent I want to know any weaknesses that might exist in my child.  I want to be alert to his shortcomings.  Being ignorant or unresponsive to his weakness will only bring a curse to him and us.  Staying on top of any problem will better equip us as parents to deal with him.
We also have the same issue if we don’t take action in our own lives.  We must be pro-active in allowing God to move in our life. Any sin or weights that so easily besets us will cause curses.  They need to be dealt with asap.
So let us not take a blind eye to our life but give attention to detail with God’s help and observation.

God Bless
Pastor
