NBC BLOG

Good morning NBC Blog Land,

Once again God has given us a day to serve and praise His name…

10 saved at last evening’s soul winning, let us rejoice!

Forget the Loss of Wrong

In II Chronicles 25 tell us that the king of Judah, Amaziah, bought soldiers to help him fight his enemy. He paid 100 talents of silver for 100,000 mighty men out of Israel. These men were from the godless, idol worshipping nation of Israel. The prophet came to King Amaziah and said, “God is not with Israel so do not fight with them”.

In verse 9 we notice a great truth about obeying God when we have already spent or committed to a decision that is wrong or out of His will.

God speaks to the prophet to tell Amaziah that it is not good for you to join with Israel to help fight your battle. Amaziah speaks to the prophet and says, “What will I do with the 100 silver talents I gave to them already”? There was no return on his money. He could not get his money back. He would lose it all. There was a no return policy with war funds.

The prophet responds to Amaziah, “You made a bad decision by joining your forces with Israel. You made another poor decision giving the silver to them, so, it is better to break the treaty with Israel and forget the loss of silver. You serve a God that is able to kill your enemy without Israel and give you much more silver than what you spent for Israel’s soldiers”.

The prophet is saying, obedience to God is never too late. Obedience to God may mean loss but God is able to give you a return on your loss far exceeding your wrong investment in disobedience.

NBC, obeying Him far outweighs anything done in disobedience. Obey Him today you cannot loose. Forget the loss and obey no matter what the loss.

God Bless You

Good Morning NBC Blog Land,
13 saved yesterday!!!! A-men

I pray all is well in your home and in your heart.

Lord willing we will be starting a Father and Son Soul Winning Club.  This will meet every Saturday from 10:00AM to 11:30AM.  We will also discuss fatherhood, guiding our boys to be men. If this interests you and think this will be a help then come – on out and be apart of this club. To Be Announced…

This morning I want to touch on Proverbs 22:10  “Cast out the scorner, and contention shall go out: Yea, strife and reproach shall cease.”

In my Noah Webster’s Dictionary I find a unique truth about the word scorner.  Mr. Webster defines a scorner as, “One who scorners, especially one who holds religion in derision.”  Now derision means one who is trying to deride or ridicule, to laugh at what you do for the Lord, to mock at the right actions of others.

Here is the direction I am going to take with this. Many of us know that getting rid of the scorner does rid the strife and reproach from our life, but what if we are the scorner of things in our own life.  We mock at things that are to be installed in our own life.  We laugh at good wholesome deeds, righteous deeds, that we know are right to be there but refuse to do them because we have become a scorner in our own heart.

For example, we believe soul winning is right, we believe that that is the only way man might be saved, but we do not go. But more sobering we laugh in our heart and mock this great truth of soul winning.  We become a scorner in our own mind, not out loud but in our heart.  Do you see in this verse what contention is?  Contention is debate.  A scorner is always in debate mode.  He is always trying to down play any urgency to a righteous cause or act.  You are in constant battle with yourself and God.  You are not happy.  You are not joyful.  You always allow soul winning to be on trial in your life.  Being a scorner means you will always look for the easier, simpler, fastest way to over step His laws or His ways.

Another example of this verse is when you know tithing is right but you do not give God’s money.  Outwardly you are in agreement, outwardly you may even teach it, outwardly you have shown signs of fulfilling this obedience but inwardly you are a scorner.  Your heart is not in it nor does it.  You laugh at God’s commands and even mock it in your heart.  Don’t get me wrong, I’m not talking about evilness by mocking others as they are doing right but as Paul said to Ananias and Sapphira in Acts 5:3 “why hath Satan filled your heart…”  What Paul was saying to them is that you know exactly what is right, right to the cent but you have allow Satan, (the mockery of doing right) to fill your heart from doing the right.  You have brought up for disagreement and discussion when really it is to be acted upon or fulfilled.

My last example, Our walk with God is to be a daily task.  The task is not your walk with God.  Just because you read your Bible and even pray does not mean you walk with God.  There have been many prophets that claimed to be God’s prophet but were false prophets.  These false prophets knew the Bible and even studied the Bible but did not allow the Bible to work in them. How could this be?  You see they became false prophets because they were scorners.  They became false prophets because they debated in themselves the right and wrong of what they read, they debated.  They were scorners because they became the final authority of their own religion. Walking with God is more than reading and praying. It is allowing me, David Adkins to be put aside and allowing God to tell me what is right and wrong.  Many of us have become scorners in our walk with God because we read to know information not read to have God change us.

This morning are we laughing at God’s ways?  Do we define His terms with our terms?.  Do we allow room for debate when really we have no say in any matter with God?  Has Satan filled our heart?

Walking with God is really to be called “Getting right with God”.

Have a Great Day!!!
I love you
